As many as two-thirds of Australian farmers may be at risk of hearing loss due to long-term exposure to loud noise, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported in an article.

The most common causes of noise exposure include tractors, machinery, guns, and livestock, according to the article. On average, there is a lag time of 7-10 years between when people notice there is a problem with their hearing and when they attempt to get help, the article said.
