Otoharmonics and Westone have finalized an agreement for Westone to become the provider of custom-fit earphones for the Levo System in North America. The high-fidelity earphones are designed to ensure comfort during sleep and allow for optimal positioning and controlled delivery of sound therapy through the Levo System.

“High-quality custom-fit earphones are an essential part of the Levo System,” said Michael Baker, CEO and president of Otoharmonics. “Westone’s longstanding history of providing premier products and exceptional customer service to the military, musicians, and other communities particularly susceptible to tinnitus makes them a natural fit for the Levo System.”

An expert in both hearing healthcare and professional audio communities, Westone is a provider of high-performance audio, in-ear monitoring technology, and hearing protection.

“We have seen firsthand the damage that tinnitus can cause one’s physical and mental health,” said Jason Lockwood, CEO of Westone Laboratories. “We are extremely excited about our partnership with Otoharmonics to finally manufacture a product that addresses the problem.”

The Levo Tinnitus System by Otoharmonics utilizes an FDA-cleared neuroscience-based approach to providing a personalized, patented sound therapy designed to help tinnitus patients while they sleep. The Levo System works by identifying and mapping an individual’s unique sound print using custom-fit ear buds and proprietary software on Apple iPad® and iPod® touch mobile digital devices.

According to the American Tinnitus Association, an estimated 50 million people in the United States experience tinnitus to some degree. While it’s only a minor annoyance for some, for 2-3 million it’s completely debilitating, causing serious problems such as sleep loss, emotional distress and anxiety.
