Neurotone AI has integrated the Revised Hearing Handicap Inventory into its Lace Pro auditory training app, giving hearing care providers a validated tool to monitor psychosocial outcomes between appointments. Neurotone AI has added the Revised Hearing Handicap Inventory (RHHI) to its Lace Pro auditory training app, enabling hearing care providers to collect patient-reported outcome data directly through the platform. The update was announced June 29, 2026. The RHHI is an 18-question survey that assesses hearing-related psychosocial health, offering insight into how hearing difficulties affect patients in their daily lives. It is among the outcome measures recommended in the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) report, Measuring Meaningful Outcomes for Adult Hearing Health Interventions. Within the app, the RHHI is presented after onboarding and uses a simple "yes," "no," or "sometimes" response format. Patient responses are shared with providers, giving practices added visibility into how patients are managing outside of scheduled visits and beyond training performance metrics alone. "Integrating the Revised Hearing Handicap Inventory into Lace Pro is an important step forward in how we measure auditory training outcomes," says Brian Taylor, VP of Clinical Research & Professional Relations at Neurotone AI, in a release. Providers can now toggle whether surveys appear in the patient app and configure survey frequency at either 30 or 90 days. "This update is about making meaningful outcome measurements easier to bring into everyday clinical care," Taylor says in a release. "When providers can see how hearing difficulties are affecting patients in real life, they can have better conversations, personalize care, and support better long-term outcomes." The Lace Pro platform is designed to support patients following hearing aid fittings through auditory training, ongoing engagement tools, and provider-facing progress monitoring. The RHHI check-ins are available now in Lace Pro.
