According to authors Louise Hickson, PhD, and Gurjit Singh, PhD, the audiological literature strongly suggests that most family members would like to participate in audiology appointments. Given the improved outcomes observed for the patient, their family, the clinician, and business by including family members in clinical care, it is time to dispel the myth that “many patients do not want their family in the room.”
