Representatives of AG Bell, Washington, recently attended a Capitol Hill briefing on the challenges and opportunities of using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds to support implementation of programs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), says a statement released by the organization.

Under ARRA, some $12 billion is committed to IDEA. According to the Department of Education, these funds "will provide an unprecedented opportunity for states, Local Education Authorities and Education Information Systems to implement innovative strategies to improve outcomes for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities while stimulating the economy."

A new Web site called IDEA Money Watch provides information, resources and updates on how local school districts across the nation are using ARRA funds.
