ESCO (Ear Service Corporation), a Plymouth, Minnesota-based provider of extended warranties and Loss and Damage coverage, has announced a partnership with Hansaton to provide the Protection Plus plan, a loss and accidental damage insurance plan for patients who have lost hearing instruments while still under manufacturer’s warranty.

Hansaton “We are pleased to partner with ESCO,” said Robert Eastman, president and CEO of Hansaton Acoustics. “This program is designed to provide our customers an additional tool that they can use to ensure patient loyalty for their practice. Patients who have peace of mind that their hearing instruments are covered in case they are lost or accidentally damaged are more confident knowing their practitioner has their best interests in mind.”

The companies report that under the agreement, they have partnered to make Protection Plus insurance coverage available to patients that have lost hearing instruments during their manufacturer’s warranty. Brochures for this plan will be sent with replacement devices to the practitioners, who will have the option to make this available to their patients.

“Hansaton has a great focus on practice and patient engagement and we are confident this partnership will result in improved patient loyalty for their practitioners,” said Jim Guthier, executive vice president of ESCO.

Once the initial loss occurs, the cost of repairing or replacing new hearing instruments is typically the responsibility of the patient. With Protection Plus, a practitioner can extend the patient’s loss, damage and repair, providing invaluable peace of mind.

Patients who purchase new hearing instruments during the period of coverage will be pro-rated for the remaining portion of the term. Protection Plus highlights include one loss and accidental damage beyond repair; Term – an Annual Warranty Plan (12 months of coverage).
