The Hearing Loss Association of America has scheduled Convention 2010 from June 17 to 20 at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center and Midwest Airlines Center, Milwaukee.
The Call for Papers is open. Those who are interested in presenting a workshop can submit proposals for five educational tracks by November 20. The tracks are: Advocacy and Access, Hearing Technology, Medical Issues, Relationships and Communication, and Young Adults. Bill Barkeley is scheduled as the event’s keynote speaker. Barkeley, who is deaf-blind, recently completed a climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, and he will be leading a group of young adults to the Peruvian Amazon in July 2010 as part of the partnership of Global Explorers and Hearing the World.
Catherine Palmer, PhD, will moderate the Research Symposium, Hearing Aid Research and Development: What It Means for the Consumer.
