Starkey announced that President and CEO Brandon Sawalich has been named Executive of the Year in the manufacturing category of the International Business Awards. This global recognition earned Brandon Sawalich a Gold Stevie Award.

“I would like to thank the entire team for making this recognition possible,” said Sawalich. “Our dedicated team works tirelessly to outdo even ourselves and continually revolutionize hearing health care. I am incredibly proud of everything we have been able to accomplish. Our products help people live better lives, and that’s what motivates me every day.”

Named President of Starkey in 2017 and Chief Executive Officer in 2020, Sawalich leads a global team of more than 5,000 employees, with facilities in more than 29 countries. He drives the strategic direction of Starkey and works closely with the Executive Team and other leaders throughout the organization to support the company’s values and goals, according to the announcement.

Most recently, Starkey announced updates to Evolv AI, the company’s “most advanced hearing technology yet.” The hearing aids are built on Starkey Sound, “a groundbreaking technology created by years of refining Starkey’s research and science-based algorithms to power high-fidelity audio, which is modeled after the human auditory system.” Like the brain, Starkey Sound is designed to “automatically suppress background noise and increase speech audibility and intelligibility with machine learning technology.” The combination of these features creates “an effortless hearing experience for users.” Evolv AI’s always on and always automatic approach delivers “realistic and genuine sound quality in every environment, without the need to do anything extra.”
