Clarity, Chattanooga, Tenn, a division of Plantronics, introduces a new line of amplified phones that use digital enhanced cordless technology 6.0 (DECT). The two new phones—the D613 and the D603—include DECT to help ensure crisp, clear, and interference-free communication for those who experience hearing loss, says the company.

The DECT phones feature a new ergonomic design with soft-touch buttons that make the handsets easier to hold and use, according to the company. The new phones are available for purchase at leading retailers and online.

The D613 cordless handset uses Clarity Power to amplify incoming sounds up to 30 decibels, or up to 32 times louder than a normal telephone, says the company. It features a digital answering machine, large buttons, and a contrasting caller ID display for people with low vision. The phone is hearing aid- and T-coil compatible and complies with TIA-1083 guidelines to help ensure reduced interference for those using hearing aids during conversations, says the company.

The D613 features call waiting caller ID, call screening, call transfer, mute call functions, a speakerphone, a 30-name and number phonebook, and nine speed dial options. The D603 offers all the features of the D613, but does not include a digital answering machine.

Integrated DECT allows the expansion of up to five handsets on one phone line, plus intercom capabilities between handsets, says the company. Customers can purchase the D613HS expandable handset separately or in a package with the D613C. Each handset offers up to 6 hours of talk time on a single charge. All phones come with a 1-year limited warranty. Menu language is available in English, French, and Spanish.
