An opinion article published on the data intelligence company Morning Consult’s website by Starkey President Brandon Sawalich discusses some “misconceptions about hearing aids” following President Biden’s recent executive order on competition.

In his editorial, Sawalich points out that stigma, not cost, is the biggest barrier to treating hearing loss, and that over-the-counter hearing aids are meant only for people with “perceived mild-to-moderate hearing loss,” and might not work for someone with more advanced hearing loss.
