The AG Bell Academy for Listening and Spoken Language announces the appointment of Lee Rech, Esq, to its board of directors for the 2013-2015 term.?
Rech received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in Houston, and was the chief prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Unit-Civil Division for the State of Texas from 2008 to 2012, and a trial attorney for the agency from 2007 to 2008.
Rech and her husband Steve became supporters and members of AG Bell in 1997, soon after their daughter Anna was diagnosed at 6 months of age with profound hearing loss. In 1998, when Anna was 15 months old, Lee and Steve attended their first AG Bell Convention. Rech worked collaboratively and aggressively with a wide array of hearing health professionals to ensure that her daughter, now age 16, learned to listen and speak. She is currently an at-home mom for the remainder of Anna’s school years.
Rech has served on the Board of Directors of the Houston Ear Research Foundation,and as co-chair for the Center for Hearing and Speech Annual Gala in Houston, and was a member of Auditory-Verbal International.??
