ZPower, a developer of rechargeable, silver-zinc batteries, will feature its new rechargeable system for hearing aids at the 2015 International Hearing Society (IHS) Convention & Expo, which takes place September 10-12 in Orlando, Fla. IHS 2015 is an important event that brings together members who are engaged in the practice of testing hearing and selecting, fitting and dispensing hearing aids, and counseling patients.
According to ZPower and a recent Marke Trak study, rechargeable batteries and rechargeable hearing aids are among the top features sought by hearing aid users.
Disposable hearing aid batteries, which are used by people with varying levels of dexterity, often run out of power in the middle of the day, and require frequent changing. ZPower reports that its rechargeable system for hearing aids offers 24+ hours of continuous power each day, charges overnight in the hearing aids, takes the place of an estimated 200 disposable batteries, and lasts a full year. The ZPower hearing aid battery is replaced once per year by a hearing care professional so the patient never has to touch a hearing aid battery again, according to the company. To read more about the system, see the article “A New Door to Rechargeable Hearing Aid Battery Solutions” in the August 2015 Hearing Review by Barry Freeman, PhD.
ZPower is currently signing new distributors, and encourages those who are interested to contact the company or visit the Zpower exhibit booth (#401) at IHS.
