Audigy Group, Vancouver, Wash, has announced that it joined Starkey Hearing Foundation on a January 2015 trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to bring hearing care and hearing aids to people in need. Celebrities Kate Hudson and Sammy Hagar joined the mission in Mexico, where audiologists and employees from Audigy, Starkey, and other hearing care practices from the United States fitted 800 individuals with hearing aids as part of Starkey’s “So the World May Hear” initiative.

“We changed lives,” said Mary Ann Gilbert, an Audigy Group member and audiologist at Whittier Hearing Center in Whittier, Calif. “We brought families closer together. We helped marriages. We gave the possibility of speech to young children. We gave everyone we saw an opportunity for a better life. And in achieving those goals, we made our own lives better and more rich.”

According to Audigy’s announcement, Starkey’s “So the World May Hear” missions are featured on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network as part of the “Operation Change” reality series. The series follows Bill and Tani Austin from Starkey Hearing Foundation, a nonprofit organization that gives free hearing aids to those in need.

“Everyone at Audigy Group is incredibly honored to have sponsored this Cabo San Lucas mission trip,” said Brandon Dawson, founder and CEO of Audigy Group. “I’m proud of our team and their passion for giving back to those in need. To be able to offer the level of support we have on multiple trips has been life-changing for everyone involved, in the best ways possible. I look forward to seeing what we can do to further support these missions and those in need in the future.”
