CI 2017 The American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI Alliance), Stanford University School of Medicine, and University of California San Francisco (UCSF) have announced an open call for abstract submissions for CI2017, the 15th Symposium on Cochlear Implants in Children, which takes place July 26-29, 2017 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square Hotel in San Francisco, Calif.

Abstract submission is now open and continues through January 12, 2017. For consideration, guidelines, and more information, visit the abstract submission area of the website.

The CI2017 Pediatric Symposium is co-organized by the American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI Alliance), Stanford University School of Medicine, and University of California San Francisco. The Scientific Program Committee is co-chaired by Nikolas Blevins, MD, of Stanford University School of Medicine, and Charles Limb, MD, of University of California San Francisco.

CI2017 Pediatric Symposium Themes:

  • Music: Improving perception and appreciation.
  • Technology: Improving CI results in an increasingly interconnected world.
  • Cognition: Improving our understanding of language development and central plasticity.
  • Outcomes: Improving the use of metrics for success.
  • Indications: Improving hearing in expanded populations.
  • Delivery: Improving efficacy, availability, and efficiency in CI care.

???The 3-day symposium brings together over 1,200 physicians, audiologists, speech pathologists, educators, hearing scientists, and members of industry. The meeting provides attendees with networking opportunities with colleagues and industry, including a Welcome Reception and Poster Viewing on Thursday, July 27. The meeting also includes opportunities for interaction with non-profit and for-profit companies in the field of hearing loss through a Technical Exhibition, which showcases technology beyond the cochlear implant, and through satellite symposia hosted by Platinum Exhibitors, cochlear implant manufacturers Advanced Bionics, MED-EL, and Cochlear Americas.

Continuing Education credits (CME and CEU) will be available.
