Smart glasses with assistive hearing technology, over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids, and other innovations in hearing care were on display at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, held in Las Vegas. 

Following are some of the devices we saw on the show floor, including several that were featured at the the Innovation Awards Showcase.

Smart Glasses Technology

EssilorLuxottica

The EssilorLuxottica exhibit showcased the Nuance Audio glasses, which feature advanced hearing technology built in. Designed for consumers with mild-to-moderate hearing loss, Nuance Audio functions as an OTC hearing aid that is integrated into the smart glasses. The glasses use beam forming technology to tune into your conversations with clarity while cutting through the background noise. The device was an honoree of the CES 2025 Innovation Awards.

Xander

XanderGlasses are wearable assistive technology for people with severe hearing challenges, which combine microphones, processors, and AR displays to transcribe speech to text, and instantly project accurate captions into the wearer’s field of view. This device was also an honoree of the CES 2025 Innovation Awards.

Captify

The Captify smart glasses are designed to enhance communication for individuals who are hard of hearing. They transcribe spoken words in real-time onto the lenses to allow users to follow conversations effortlessly. It features dual beamforming microphones for noise cancellation, support for prescription lenses, and a lightweight design.

OTC Hearing Aids

Elehear

Elehear presented a sneak peak of its Elehear Beyond Pro hearing aids, which will be released later this year, and will feature several upgrades for enhanced sound clarity via its proprietary VocClear technology, along with real-time AI translation capabilities and  personalized tinnitus relief functionalities.

Tuned

The Tuned exhibit in the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP section of CES 2025 showcased an array of the company’s AI-powered solutions, including Lumen and JVC-branded products

Cearvol

Cearvol, a provider of OTC hearing aids designed for individuals with mild to moderate high-frequency hearing loss, was present on the CES show floor. The company says its devices combine advanced technology with a simple, user-friendly design to deliver effective hearing solutions.

Other Innovations

Another honoree of the CES 2025 Innovation Awards, Earnap, was highlighted on the show floor. Earnap is a portable infrared therapy device designed to prevent ear infections and address hearing loss. Its earbud design uses micro LED chips for treatment, with an app for personalized therapy and remote monitoring by healthcare providers.

Meanwhile, Budz by Budz B.V., another 2025 Innovation Awards Honoree in Digital Health, integrates advanced UWB technology on the COR1 platform, enabling it to handle AI-driven software and high DSP loads. This multifunctional device is designed to enhance safety, efficiency, and connectivity for workers, civilians, and military personnel. It also supports health monitoring and hearing protection.
