The partnership with Hassrick highlights the performance of Widex Allure hearing aids for athletes managing congenital hearing loss.

Widex announced it has named 19-year-old US Ski Jumper Estella Hassrick as its newest brand ambassador. Hassrick, who has managed congenital hearing loss since birth, will represent the brand and its Widex Allure hearing aid technology.

“Estella embodies everything Widex stands for,” says Alan Raffauf, head of brand marketing, Widex, in a release. “Her confidence, authenticity, and refusal to let hearing loss define her limits make her an inspiring athlete and a natural match for Widex. She shows young people everywhere that clarity, both in sound and in self, can fuel extraordinary performance.”

Hassrick, a member of the US Ski Team, previously faced challenges wearing hearing aids during competition. Traditional devices were impractical under her ski helmet, causing discomfort and feedback, which forced her to compete without them. She has since been fitted with Widex Allure, which she can wear comfortably under her helmet.

“Since being fitted with Widex Allure, I train and compete with a new sense of clarity and confidence,” Hassrick says in a release. “I can hear my coaches in real time, stay connected with teammates, and focus all my energy on performance instead of straining to hear.”

The fitting was managed by audiologist Dr Veronica Heide of Audible Difference, who has provided care for three generations of the Hassrick family. According to the company, Dr Heide identified the Widex Allure as an ideal solution for Hassrick’s active lifestyle due to its sound processing capabilities and discreet design.

“Widex Allure delivers the balance of natural sound quality and adaptive performance that Estella needs,” says Dr Heide, in a release. “It’s rare to see a device that supports both high-level athletic performance and deeply personal daily experiences, with that kind of clarity, flexibility, and confidence.”

Powered by the W1 chip and Precision Hearing Technology, Widex Allure is designed to balance speech clarity with environmental awareness. The company cites data showing a 4-to-1 user preference for the device compared to their own hearing aids for speech understanding, naturalness, and overall listening experience. The rechargeable receiver-in-canal models also feature Bluetooth connectivity and a companion app for sound personalization.

“Her unwavering determination reflects the impact that natural, effortless hearing can have on a person’s life,” adds Raffauf. “Together, we look forward to inspiring people of all ages to hear more and live boldly.”
