Beltone announced that it has expanded the number of Android devices that are compatible with its HearPlus app and hearing solutions.
According to the company, the HearPlus app compatible devices now include Samsung Galaxy S4, S6, S6 Edge, and Samsung Note 4. The HearPlus app is already compatible with Samsung Galaxy S5 and all Apple iOS devices (iPhone*, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch). In addition to the main devices, the company says the app is available for sub variations of the main models, such as Samsung Galaxy S5 mini, S5 Plus, and S6 Plus. This expanded capability is intended to allow more people to enjoy discreet and personalized control of their advanced hearing aids through their smartphones.
“We are excited to be able to further enhance accessibility for people with hearing loss, allowing more wearers to personalize their hearing,” said John Cariola, AuD, director of product management. “Our latest developments will now allow a larger population to enjoy the full benefits of controlling their hearing aids remotely, as well as manage their tinnitus symptoms, in a simple and discreet way.”
According to Beltone, the HearPlus app allows users to set preferred volume, treble and bass levels; further personalize listening experience through speech, background noise and wind noise adjustments; geo-tag frequently visited places – such as home, work, favorite restaurants and more – to automatically update profiles and adjust to specific acoustics; locate misplaced hearing aids with the “Finder” feature; check hearing aid battery levels, and manage tinnitus symptoms through built-in customizable sound therapy.

Gostaria de saber como configurar meu aparelho auditivo legenda para receber ligações e ouvir músicas, tenho um galaxy s5 Samsung.
Hi Fernando,
I’m providing an English translation from Portuguese of your request here, in the hope that another reader can answer your question: “I would like to know how to configure my hearing aid to receive calls and listen to music. I have a Samsung Galaxy s5. Can someone please direct me on how to solve this problem?”
Also, here is Beltone’s contact link for its international locations: http://www.beltone-hearing.com/worldwide-locations.aspx
Just received in past week my Beltone Legends hearing aids & using Hear Plus app with IPhone 6. Just love the matchup & flexibility to control the Legends. Only problem I’m having is getting the “batteries” status on menu to respond. Other menu options like Finder, etc. respond ok, but not “batteries”. That would be fantastic to know. Your help appreciated.
Hi Larry,
I’m posting this in hopes that you’ll get an answer here from a hearing care professional who can offer advice, but in the meantime, you may want to contact Beltone directly for assistance at: 1-800-Beltone
I have a Galaxy Note 3. I checked to upgrade to a Note 5, because a Note 4 is no longer being produced. Will you be developing an app that will have a broader range of phones available? Both hearing aids and cell phones are very expensive to replace. Thank you.
I purchased new Beltone hearing aids in January 2015 and was not made aware they could be set up to my cell phone. I purchased a new cell phone in March 2015 and it is an LG G3 and can’t set up my cell phone to my hearing aids. When will Beltone include this phone? Thanks, Phyllis.
Worked well with my iPhone 5 but it was a company phone and I had to secure my own due to retiring. Got a Galaxy 6 about a month ago. Before that, Beltone told me they could not help me as it was not their app. As it stands, I located an app from Beltone which at least does most of what the iPhone app did, except for a major component–My phone (and music) does not channel directly into my Beltone Legend hearing aids, one of the reasons I went with them…thus, I have a phone which is nothing more than a remote control for expensive hearing aids.
According to your website, the Beltone HearPlus app is compatable with ALL Apple iOS devices. However, it is not compatable with the iPhone 4s, a phone which I have bought specifically to control my Beltone Legend hearing aid. What now? Thanks.
Hello Frans,
According to the Beltone website and related news announcements, the Beltone HearPlus app is compatible “with all Apple iOS devices” (https://www.beltone.com/products/beltone-legend.aspx). However, the web page for the HearPlus app specifies at the bottom that the app is compatible with the iPhone 5s and later generations (most likely because the Legend came to market at the time of those next-generation smartphones.) Many apologies that we provided the link to the HearPlus app page, but did not include the detailed list of compatible devices within the text of the article itself (https://www.beltone.com/products/hear-plus-app.aspx)–we shall amend that now, based on your comment! The Beltone website says you can return to the Beltone provider who sold you the Legend hearing aid for assistance, so hopefully that provider can help you with both the aid and the app. If you have BelCare, you can reportedly visit any Beltone provider for assistance (http://www.beltone.com/beltone-experience/belcare.aspx).
