In fact, audiologists moved up a dramatic 34 spots from the 2010 report, previously ranking number 43. Why? Tony Lee, publisher of, told the Financial Post that much of the jump was due to more audiologists retiring and the fact that Baby Boomers are now approaching the age when they will begin to have hearing loss and require hearing aids.

And what could be a better job than audiologist in 2011? With a boost from the development of apps for iPods, tablets, smart phones, and other devices, software engineer has jumped to the number one spot on the list.
