The updated design aims to improve accessibility for seniors while remaining compliant with child-safety regulations.

Rayovac will showcase its improved hearing aid battery packaging at the American Academy of Audiology AAA 2026 Conference, which takes place April 22-25 in San Antonio, Texas. The new design, developed in response to consumer feedback, features a new opening method and clearer on-pack instructions intended to make the batteries more accessible for seniors while remaining compliant with the child-safety requirements of Reese’s Law.

The new packaging will be featured in the Rayovac Extra and ProLine ranges and has been certified as child-resistant in independent testing. Shipping to U.S. customers is scheduled to begin in late Spring 2026.

Senior-Focused Design and Performance

Child-resistant packaging was introduced in 2024 to comply with federal regulations. The latest design iteration addresses feedback regarding ease of use for older adults.

“After listening to feedback from our customers, we’ve created a new senior-considerate pack design that still complies with the requirements of Reese’s Law. The new packaging features a new opening method and clearer on-pack instructions supported by visuals, to guide users through a simple, intuitive opening process. In independent testing, 98% of consumers are able to open the pack in less than one minute as they become confident with the new design,” says Glen Rutherford, commercial vice president, in a release.

Attendees of the AAA 2026 conference can visit the Rayovac stand (no. 523) at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center to learn more about the new packaging. The company’s team will also be available to discuss its Sound Fusion Technology.
