I always look forward to spring for a number of things. In particular, I can move my earplug case from the snowblower to the lawn mower, I can look forward to waking up and reading about baseball in the sports section, and it becomes a very busy time at Hearing Review and Hearing Review Products due to all the new things being offered at the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) AudiologyNOW! convention. This year’s convention, held in Boston on March 28-31, is anticipated to bring together over 7,500 audiologists—the largest annual gathering of hearing care professionals in the world. This edition of HRP highlights some of the key offerings that you’ll see on the exhibit floor at AudiologyNOW! and provides information on three new technologies in rechargeable batteries, tinnitus management hearing aids, and newborn hearing screening. Besides our usual review of products being introduced at AAA, we’ve come up with an excellent way for showing product features via our new Just Specs section in this issue.
Read HRP…in Digital AND Print. This month, both HRP and HR are debuting our first-ever digital editions—essentially digital replicas of the print magazines except they contain feature-rich add-on’s such as videos, extra product photos, links, and much more. These and future editions will also go to an additional 14,000+ readers worldwide in addition to our print magazines. There will be an App coming soon, so you can read HR and HRP on your smartphones as well. So, that’s one more reason I’m looking forward to this spring.
