Borah Elementary is the first school in Northern Idaho to offer a preschool classroom incorporating the “Total Communication” teaching method for deaf and hard-of-hearing children, the AP reported.
According to the article, the 4-day per week preschool will open this year utilizing “Total Communication,” a teaching style that uses signs, body language, lips, and American Sign Language.
