HHTM Group announced the launch of FindHearing.com, what it describes as “the web’s newest independent resource for consumers with hearing loss.” Created by the same team that publishes Hearing Health & Technology Matters (HHTM), the mission of FindHearing.com is said to “inform, educate, and empower consumers about the importance of hearing healthcare.”

FindHearing.com plans to share weekly news and opinion articles to engage consumers about their hearing healthcare.

After witnessing a large increase in consumer search traffic over the past year to HHTM—which recently celebrated its 8th anniversary—it was determined that a dedicated consumer-focused website was the best way to serve that growing audience looking for information about hearing health.

“HHTM has seen tremendous growth over the past 8 years, serving both the hearing professional and consumer communities, and we plan to continue that mission,” said Kevin Liebe, AuD, President and CEO of the HHTM Group. “Creating FindHearing.com was a logical next step for us to reach the growing numbers of consumers online who are searching for reliable information about hearing healthcare.”

Counted among the regular contributors to FindHearing.com are well-known consumer voices in the hearing industry, Gael Hannan and Shari Eberts. Hannan, who writes a popular weekly blog  the “Better Hearing Consumer,” is an award-winning writer, speaker, and advocate on hearing loss issues. Eberts is a hearing health advocate, writer, and founder of Living With Hearing Loss, a blog and online community for people living with hearing loss and tinnitus. She recently authored an E-book, Person-centered Care from the Patient’s Perspective, detailing her experience with hearing loss.

Other professional contributors and advisors to FindHearing.com include: Robert Traynor, AuD; Brian Taylor, AuD; Marshall Chasin, AuD; Brady Workman, AuD, and Nick Fitzgerald, several of whom have also written for The Hearing Review.

Independent Clinics Invited to Register in Online Directory

FindHearing.com also offers a searchable online directory for consumers to seek and find professional care in their area.

A listing in the new directory is available to independent hearing clinics across the US and Canada. Registration in the listing is free.

“Being part of online listings is beneficial for your search engine optimization,” said Fitzgerald, president and owner of AuDSEO. “The search engines use the consistency of your company’s name, address, and phone number across the web to determine how legitimate you are in your area. As a result, your rankings in local search improve when you have accurate online listings like on FindHearing.com.”
