Two men were indicted on federal charges related to fraudulent claims for hearing aids to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, according to an article in the Dallas News.

According to the indictment discussed in the article, father and son Terry Anderson, 66, and Rocky Anderson, 36, were each charged on April 20 with 15 counts by the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas, which included conspiracy to commit health care fraud, health care fraud and aiding and abetting, and identity theft and aiding and abetting.

Many of the fraudulent claims were submitted on behalf of American Airlines’ employees. The employees’ Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans, at one time, had no maximum limit on the cost of hearing aids and permitted annual purchases of hearing aids, the Dallas News reports.
