The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), Bethesda, Md is updating its research Strategic Plan for for the period 2009 to 2011 and feedback is being sought.

The NIDCD is one of the Institutes that comprise the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The plan presents a series of goals and objectives that serve as a guide to the NIDCD in prioritizing its research investment to keep current with the state of the science and advances in the field of human communication research.

Public comment on the draft—found on the organization’s Web site—can be submitted through November 14.

The NIDCD supports and conducts research and research training on the normal and disordered processes of hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice, speech, and language, and provides health information, based upon scientific discovery, to the public.
