Eagan, Minn— On November 10, 2011, representatives from Sonic and the city of Eagan, Minn, officially cut the ribbon and opened Sonic’s new production facility. The 20,000-plus-square-foot building will employ 90 people.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at the Eagan facility, located at 1020 Discovery Road. Among those in attendance were Joseph A. Lugara, Sonic president and COO (pictured, center), and Jon Hohenstein, director of Community Development for the City of Eagan (pictured left of Lugara).
Lugara celebrated the opening, saying, "When William Demant Holding acquired Sonic in November 2010, we were excited about the opportunity to access the vast resources WDH could offer Sonic. Working with WDH planning and efficiency experts has allowed us to design a modern home for our US manufacturing operations that improve our productivity and efficiency."
The Sonic world headquarters will also relocate from Salt Lake City to a new, larger facility in Somerset, NJ, in early 2012. Sonic has also established a new international office in Switzerland, focusing on the needs of its international customers and distributors around the world.
