This year, the Hearing Loss Association of America’s Walk4Hearing celebrates 10 years of organizing fundraising walks for hearing loss support and awareness across the country. The HLAA Walk4Hearing started out with six walks, and now has 21 walks each year, which have raised funds for local and national organizations that serve people with hearing loss. Volunteer walkers have reached nearly 40% of the $1.4 million fundraising goal for 2015.
The HLAA Walk4Hearing is spreading the word and encouraging more people to join the effort to ensure continued success of the program. According to HLAA, there are many ways to participate in Walk4Hearing, from walking on the day of the event to donating to a walker anywhere in the country, or simply helping to spread the word. The Find a Walk link provides a schedule of walk dates and locations nationwide.
