During a holiday season that finds communities across the US, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands struggling to recover from the devastation of hurricanes and wildfires, the need for continued “smart responses” by relief organizations has never been greater. To support ongoing relief efforts, Oticon, Inc has donated $25,000 to All Hands and Hearts—Smart Response, an organization dedicated to not just first response but smart, long-term response, Oticon announced. The nonprofit organization helps to rebuild safe and resilient schools, homes, and other community infrastructure.
“For many of our professional partners in areas devastated by natural disasters, the recent months have been a challenging time,” said Oticon President Gary Rosenblum. “It is a hardship that weighs heavily on all of us, especially at this time of year. Through our donation to All Hands and Hearts, we hope to bring immediate relief and long-term recovery to affected communities. We are proud to partner with an organization that shares Oticon’s commitment to empowering volunteers to contribute in tangible ways to suffering communities in the US and around the world.”
All Hands and Hearts has made a two-year commitment to rebuilding schools and houses and addressing other unmet needs in Texas, the US Virgin Islands, and around the Caribbean.
Oticon’s donation builds on the recent good works of hearing care professional volunteers in Texas, the Northwest US, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands enabled by the Oticon Hearing Foundation. The Oticon Hearing Foundation continues its support of hearing care professionals who volunteer their professional care to in-need populations in the US and worldwide. Hearing care professionals can contact the Oticon Regional Audiology Department at 800-526-3921 for more information about the Oticon Hearing Foundation and support of hearing impaired disaster victims.
