The addition of CIC Rechargeable Custom IX, Silk IX, and Active Pro IX completes the company’s Integrated Xperience platform for the VA, DoD, and IHS.
Signia has announced that its CIC Rechargeable Custom IX, Silk IX, and Active Pro IX hearing aids are now available to audiologists within the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Indian Health Service (IHS). The new models expand the Integrated Xperience (IX) platform, providing a more complete range of custom and instant-fit hearing solutions for these channels.
A Unified Platform for Clinical Efficiency
With these additions, the Signia IX platform available to VA audiologists now includes custom devices, instant-fit options, and traditional RIC and BTE styles on a single portfolio. This enables clinicians to select the appropriate form factor for each patient without changing workflows while maintaining consistent clinical performance across fittings.
“With this expansion of the IX portfolio in the VA channel, audiologists can now fit both custom and instant-fit solutions within a single platform, giving them greater flexibility, including same-day fitting options, without adding complexity or compromising on clinical performance,” says Sheena Burks, AuD, chief clinical officer at WS Audiology, in a release.
For VA audiologists, the instant-fit solutions remove the need for earmold impressions, which can reduce fitting complexity and enable faster, same-day care.
New Models and Platform Features
The new hearing aids available to VA, DoD, and IHS audiologists include:
- CIC Rechargeable Custom IX: A custom solution that combines a personalized fit with the convenience of rechargeability.
- Silk IX: A rechargeable, instant-fit solution designed for cosmetic discretion.
- Active Pro IX: A rechargeable, connectivity-forward device with a consumer-friendly form factor for more tech-engaged veterans.
The IX platform is powered by RealTime Conversation Enhancement technology, which the company says delivers a 22% improvement in speech understanding in noisy group conversations compared to leading competitors.
“All patients don’t fit into a single form factor—but audiologists shouldn’t have to change platforms to meet every need,” says Burks, in a release. “By bringing custom and instant-fit solutions together within the IX platform, we’re helping audiologists spend less time navigating processes and more time focused on delivering care—within a single, consistent workflow.”
Signia IX is the company’s fourth-generation hearing aid platform available through the VA channel.
