At its annual General Assembly, the European Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (EHIMA), Bagsvaerd, Denmark, elected Lukas Braunschweiler, CEO of Sonova, as president, and Anders Hedegaard, CEO of GN ReSound, as vice-president of the organization. Both positions have 2-year terms.
EHIMA’s new president, Braunschweiler (pictured above), is a Swiss citizen who joined the Sonova Group as CEO in November 2011 after serving as the CEO of the technology group RUAG. Prior to that he served for 7 years as president and CEO of Dionex Corp, a Nasdaq-listed California-based company active in the life sciences industry, and also served in various group executive positions in Switzerland and the US for Mettler Toledo, a precision instruments manufacturer. He holds a MS in analytical chemistry and a PhD in physical chemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland.
The organization’s new vice-president, Anders Hedegaard, is a Danish citizen who joined the GN Group in August 2014 as CEO of GN ReSound. He had previously served as the CEO of Bavarian Nordic, an Copenhagen-based international biotechnology company, for 7 years, as well as in executive positions with ALK-Abelló and the FOSS Group. He holds a MS in chemical engineering from The Technical University of Denmark.
