Takeaways:
- The Genesis AI hearing aids utilize an advanced processor that mimics the central auditory system, powered by an on-chip Deep Neural Network accelerator.
- Its Edge Mode+ automatically optimizes sound quality across different environments, and motion-based optimization uses sensor technology to improve hearing clarity.
- The hearing aid features a rechargeable RIC (Receiver-in-Canal) battery that provides up to 51 hours of use on a single charge.
Starkey’s Genesis AI hearing aids has been selected as a winner in the 2024 MedTech Breakthrough Awards for Best New Technology Solution – Hearing Aid.
The Genesi AI—which includes a suite of enhanced technological capabilities—features enhanced processor technology, a long-lasting rechargeable battery in a RIC (51 hours from a single charge), a small rechargeable RIC with sensor, improved dynamic range, and more.
Starkey Technology
“At Starkey, we’re always thinking 10 years ahead in order to create the best performing hearing aids on the market,” says Starkey President and CEO Brandon Sawalich. “Genesis AI is the next-generation hearing aid people want, packed within a beautiful design and outstanding, transparent sound quality. Thanks to the hard work and innovation of our team, Genesis AI continues to be recognized internationally as the cutting-edge product that is turning hearing aids into want-to-wear devices.”
The introduction of the Genesis AI hearing aid marked a new era for Starkey, according to the company, and was aimed to help set the standard for premium plus technology.
An Updated Genesis AI
The Genesis AI was recently updated to now include two new features designed specifically to help patients hear clearly in more situations, the company says.
- Edge Mode+: Edge Mode+ has now become automatic once engaged. After the user turns on Edge Mode+, it continues to scan, adapt, and optimize as the wearer changes environments or as the environment they are in changes.
- Motion-based optimization: Adaptive directional microphones now have the power of sensor technology embedded inside Genesis AI.
Starkey Neuro Processor
In addition, the all-new Starkey Neuro Processor part of Genesis AI features advanced processor technology, which mimics the function of the central auditory system through an on-chip Deep Neural Network accelerator.
