Phonak, Stäfa, Switzerland, has introduced a modular program comprising information and educational materials, and a loss and damage insurance package for its customers.
The company notes that physicians are likely to be the first point of contact for people experiencing a hearing loss. A survey by Hörzentrum Oldenburg, University of Oldenburg, Germany, reports that some 40% of people diagnosed with hearing loss by their physician do not visit a hearing care professional in a next step, thereby leaving the hearing loss untreated.
To support hearing care professionals when addressing physicians regarding hearing loss and hearing devices, Phonak offers a modular program comprising information and educational materials. The physician marketing program will be introduced in 14 markets starting in November 2009, says the company.
And, in partnership with the worldwide operating insurance company Allianz, Phonak offers a loss and damage insurance package for buyers of Phonak hearing systems, FM systems, or accessories.
Hearing care professionals can broaden their service portfolio by offering the Phonak insurance to their customers, says the company. Phonak insurance will be available in 10 countries in a first step and then will be introduced to further markets.
