In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 to October 15, the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), Bethesda, Md, has launched a new Spanish-language section on its popular Web site for parents of 8- to 12-year-olds, It’s a Noisy Planet. Protect Their Hearing.
The new section includes publications to teach parents about hearing loss from overexposure to loud noise, why children and teens are at risk, and how parents can help their children build healthy hearing habits.
