Rolling Stone Magazine reported that rock group Huey Lewis and the News have signed a deal for a new album, their first since “Plan B” in 2001.
Lead singer Huey Lewis was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease in early 2018, and announced that he lost “most of his hearing,” forcing the cancellation of the group’s 40-date tour, according to Rolling Stone. Lewis reportedly sang his hit “Hip to be Square” at a golf event in October, but hasn’t done a full show in over a year.
Lewis was a keynote speaker at the 2001 American Academy of Audiology (AAA) Convention and was part of a marketing campaign for Oticon’s Dual hearing device in 2009, as well as its predecessor, the DELTA, in 2006.
