According to Honeywell’s announcement, the upgrade to its VeriPRO 3.0 offers users a more efficient and user-friendly way to fit-test earplugs. The earplug fit-testing upgrade will likely be of interest to safety managers, because it allows them to more accurately determine the individual protection level of a worker fitted with any earplugs through a simple listening test. Managers will reportedly be able to easily assess whether an employee is receiving optimal protection from current earplugs, or requires additional fit training, or a different model.

According to Honeywell, the VeriPRO system consists of PC-based software, an audiometrically optimized headset, audio processor, QuickStart guide, and USB cable. The VeriPRO fit-testing technology can measure each employee’s Personal Attenuation Rating (PAR), and fulfills regulatory requirements to ensure proper initial fitting of hearing protection. It works with any earplug from any manufacturer, and comes with documents training and other features that allow for one-on-one employee education.

The company reports that the VeriPRO 3.0 upgrade helps improve hearing protection fit testing through increased ease-of-use and versatility. Users can enter and edit any earplug information from any manufacturer, and document earplug size for many earplugs. Information uploading is said to be easier, and simplified installation is available in a range of formats, among other features.

The VeriPRO 3.0 upgrade is free for all currently registered VeriPRO users to download online, and is also available from industrial safety distributors in the US and Canada. More information about the VeriPRO upgrade is available on the Howard Leight website.
