In October, The Arc of Somerset County honored Oticon, Inc, as a key partner in helping to make employment for people with disabilities possible.

According to a news release from Oticon, the company has worked closely with The Arc for the past 15 years to provide projects that utilize the unique skills and abilities of people with developmental disabilities who are served by The Arc’s training and job placement programs.

“We are pleased to recognize Oticon during October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month,” said Gary Kummer, director of employment services for The Arc. “For 15 years, Oticon has provided a paycheck to approximately 125 different adults with Developmental Disabilities. It is organizations like Oticon that are making a real difference in people’s lives.”

Oticon provides contract work for three Arc Adult Training Centers where individuals assemble the boxes and interior box shells used to package Oticon hearing solutions.
