The new portfolio includes the Instant HearBand and Instant SoundConnector, expanding wearable options for bone conduction hearing. Oticon Medical has announced its new non-surgical portfolio, Ponto Instant, designed to broaden access to bone conduction hearing solutions for children and adults. The portfolio adds two new products, the Instant HearBand and Instant SoundConnector, to the company’s existing Softband 5 wearable. “Ponto Instant brings together non-surgical solutions that give users and hearing care professionals greater choice across different needs and preferences,” says René Govaerts, president and general manager of Oticon Medical, in a release. “With Instant HearBand and Instant SoundConnector, we are continuing to build a portfolio that supports more individual wearing options.” New Wearable Alternatives The Instant HearBand is a lightweight, behind-the-head wearable solution intended as a discreet alternative to the Softband 5. It is available in small, medium, and large sizes and features black ear hooks and front tips that can be replaced with five additional colors for personalization. The portfolio also introduces the Instant SoundConnector, a small accessory that allows a sound processor to be fitted onto a cap or other headwear. This provides an additional non-surgical wearing option for specific activities or style preferences. Both the Softband 5 and Instant HearBand can be fitted with the Ponto 5 Mini or Ponto 5 SuperPower sound processors. According to the company, the Ponto 5 SuperPower (65 dB) is particularly useful during trials to help overcome skin attenuation and provide an experience closer to that of an implanted device. The availability of the Instant HearBand and Instant SoundConnector is subject to regulatory approval in their respective markets.
