Does untreated hearing loss exacerbate cognitive decline? Dr Jennifer Deal and her colleagues at Johns Hopkins have been researching aspects of hearing loss and cognition, and are currently engaged in the Aging and Cognitive Health Evaluation in Elders (ACHIEVE) study, a randomized trial to determine efficacy of hearing intervention on reducing cognitive decline in older adults.
