Toni Gitles (left) has joined the Allen Group as an associate recruiter. Gitles began her 29-year career as an audiologist under the direction of James Jerger, PhD, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Throughout her career she has worked as an audiologist in audiology services, fitting and dispensing hearing aids, hearing aid sales, customer service, marketing, research, and educational seminars. She was previously an owner of Electone Inc, and is also an experienced presenter of training seminars.
Central Institute for the Deaf
The Central Institute for the Deaf (CID), St Louis, has named B. Douglas Morriss, John J. Deutschmann, Scott Monette, and Richard Jensen to its board of managers. Morriss is chairman and CEO of Morriss Holdings, chairman and managing general partner of Gryphon Investments, and chairman and managing general partner of Hela Capital. He also serves on the boards finance and investment committees. Deutschmann is vice president and general manager of a Nieman Marcus store in St Louis. Monette is corporate vice president and treasurer of Ralcorp Holdings, while Jensen is chairman and CEO of the Private Bank.
GN ReSound, Minnetonka, Minn, has hired Joe Civiello as its new outside business development consultant for the New England region, which includes Maine,Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Civiello, a 12-year sales veteran, has a BS degree in business administration from Wilmington College of Ohio. GN ReSound also announces the appointment of Nancy Schmitz (left) to marketing assistant. Schmitz comes to the company from the newspaper industry, and has a BS degree in marketing and a BFA in communications from the University of North Dakota.
In this role, Schmitz will be responsible for developing marketing materials, writing press releases, acting as a gatekeeper for various branches of a customer loyalty program, as well as supporting advertising and communication programs designed to promote products and services.
Siemens Hearing Solutions
Siemens Hearing Solutions, Piscataway, NJ, has announced the promotion of David Sawyer to vice president of marketing. In this role, Sawyer will direct the companys marketing services, product development and management, software and systems technical support, advertising, and overall marketing initiatives. Since joining the company in 1999, Sawyer has worked as its international custom product development director, as well as marketing director. Prior to joining Siemens, he held a number of management and sales positions with several hearing instrument companies. He has also dispensed hearing instruments in private practice, and has conducted seminars and workshops for hearing heath care professionals.
Also, during the annual Hearing Industries Association (HIA) meeting, Siemens elected several new directors to the board, including Jeffrey Bilas, Miracle-Ear; Mark Gorder, Resistance Technology Inc; Carsten Trads, GN ReSound; and John Zei, Knowles Electronics. Continuing on the board of directors are Ian McWalter, Gennum Corp, Andy Raguskus, Sonic Innovations, Eric Spar, WIDEX, and Mikael Worning, Oticon and Erickson.
