The hearing healthcare group has named a life sciences finance veteran as its new chief financial officer, succeeding Marianne Wiinholt, who departed at the end of August.

WSA, a leading hearing healthcare group, has appointed Peter Bøggild as its new CFO and member of the executive board and committee, effective no later than Dec. 1, 2026.

Bøggild joins WSA from Novo, where he spent more than 21 years in senior finance roles, most recently serving as senior vice president of business finance and group vice president of R&D performance, finance and governance. He succeeds Marianne Wiinholt, who stepped down at the end of August to pursue a portfolio of board and advisory roles.

“I’m pleased to welcome Peter Bøggild to WSA, where he will play a key role in executing our strategy of bringing innovation and personalized hearing care to more people worldwide. He brings valuable, broad financial, strategic, and leadership experience from the life sciences industry to WSA. I look forward to working with him,” says Jan Mäkelä, CEO of WSA, in a release.

WSA chair Lars Rasmussen adds that Bøggild’s background in the commercial and operational dimensions of life sciences makes him a good fit for the organization. “He has solid strategic and financial experience, as well as in-depth knowledge of the commercial and operational aspects of the life science industry. I am confident that he is a strong match for WSA and will contribute successfully to the company’s continued development alongside employees, the executive committee and the board,” says Rasmussen, in a release.

Bøggild expressed enthusiasm for the role and the company’s growth trajectory. “WSA is one of the world’s largest hearing care companies, has an exciting product portfolio and a significant growth potential. I look forward to working closely with the organization to drive strategy execution and performance and unlock the next phase of growth,” says Bøggild, in a release.

The appointment is the latest in a series of executive-level moves at WSA. The company recently named Harrison Boyd as president of its Americas region and welcomed Dorothea Wenzel to its board of directors.
