Starkey’s latest hearing aid family adds a proprietary Quad DNN Architecture, a new G4 Gen AI Neuro Processor, and a Sleep Quality Tracking feature, while expanding advanced AI performance across more product styles.

Starkey has announced Omega AI+, an expanded hearing technology family built on the company’s proprietary Quad DNN Architecture and a new G4 Gen AI Neuro Processor. The platform introduces what the company describes as the DNN Dual Compressor — a signal processing approach designed to address the tradeoff between speech clarity and sound quality — along with new wellness and connectivity capabilities.

A New Processing Architecture

At the center of Omega AI+ is Starkey’s Quad DNN Architecture, which uses four specialized deep neural networks working simultaneously to analyze, interpret, and optimize sound in real time. Inspired by how multiple neural systems in the human brain process information, the architecture is designed to enable faster, more natural hearing while maintaining power efficiency.

The platform’s G4 Gen AI Neuro Processor features neural network intelligence built directly into the silicon and processes sound up to 2.7 times faster than leading hearing aids that market DNN processing capabilities, according to Starkey.

One of the architecture’s key features is the DNN Dual Compressor. Traditional hearing technology has required a tradeoff between speech intelligibility and sound quality; Starkey says Omega AI+ addresses that compromise by intelligently determining when to optimize for speech clarity and when to preserve natural sound quality. The platform also introduces an enhanced Edge Mode that can remain active continuously, providing ongoing AI-driven optimization without requiring manual activation.

“We are not simply building better hearing aids. We are creating intelligent technology that understands, adapts, and responds more like the human brain itself,” says Brandon Sawalich, president and CEO of Starkey, in a release. “By bringing together our most advanced AI, exceptional sound quality, seamless connectivity, and health and wellness technology, Omega AI+ moves hearing technology beyond better hearing — helping people connect more naturally, live more confidently, and experience more of life.”

Achin Bhowmik, PhD, chief technology officer and executive vice president of engineering at Starkey, framed the architecture in terms of neuroscience: “The human brain relies on multiple neural systems working together to make sense of sound. Omega AI+ applies that same principle through our proprietary Quad DNN Architecture, where four specialized deep neural networks continuously work together to optimize speech understanding, environmental awareness, sound quality, and listening comfort. The result is faster, more intelligent, and more natural hearing,” says Bhowmik, in a release.

Broader Access to AI Performance

Omega AI+ extends Starkey’s advanced AI technologies across a wider range of hearing solutions. Custom rechargeable products now include Starkey’s DNN 360 technology, designed to improve speech intelligibility, enhance spatial awareness, and reduce listening effort.

The family also expands to include custom non-wireless devices with Automatic Edge Mode, bringing dynamic environmental adaptation and AI-powered performance to Starkey’s smallest custom hearing aids.

Omega AI+ supports Auracastâ„¢ broadcast audio, enabling wearers to access compatible public and personal audio broadcasts while remaining connected to conversations, entertainment, and other audio sources.

Wellness and Sleep Tracking

Omega AI+ adds Sleep Quality Tracking, which the company describes as an industry-only feature. Using onboard sensors, the system provides nightly sleep scores along with insights into sleep cycles and body position, extending the role of the hearing device into broader health monitoring.

Starkey, headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minn., is the only American-owned hearing aid manufacturer and employs more than 5,000 professionals across 29 facilities, serving customers in more than 100 markets worldwide. The Omega AI platform has been a focal point of the company’s recent product development, with the new Omega AI+ representing the next iteration of that line.
