Phonak today launched Eon, its next-generation hearing aid platform. Powered by the newly developed HyperSonic chip, Eon combines Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0, AutoSense OS AI 8.0, and Made-For-All connectivity in one, more efficient platform. It is designed to improve speech understanding in noise, automatically adapt to the surrounding sound environment, and connect to virtually any Bluetooth enabled device. Eon is 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the previous Sphere generation, while offering up to 38 hours of battery life.
“Eon sets a new benchmark for intelligent hearing,” says Josipa Kern, global head of Phonak. “It brings together the capabilities that matter most in daily life: understanding speech, adapting automatically, and staying connected with confidence.”
Scene Intelligence Meets Speech Clarity
Eon brings together two complementary AI systems: Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0 and AutoSense OS AI 8.0. Both work in parallel and real time to make hearing more adaptive and precise, and to help people hear better across changing listening situations.
Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0 uses deep neural network (DNN) processing to separate speech from background noise in real time, making users twice as likely to understand every word from any direction, according to the company.
In parallel, AutoSense OS AI 8.0 is made to continuously analyzes the surrounding sound environment and automatically activate the optimal combination of features for each situation, supporting a more natural listening experience in speech-in-loud-noise situations compared with previous generations.
Designed for Real Life, Indoors and Outdoors
Eon also introduces WindBlock 2.0, which Phonak says automatically reduces wind noise by up to 50 dB and can improve the signal-to-noise ratio by up to 30 dB. It’s designed to support clearer conversations and a more natural listening experience outdoors.
All Day Use Powered by a New Chip
Thanks to the new HyperSonic chip powering Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0, Eon uses 37% less power than the previous generation while maintaining advanced real-time AI performance, according to the company. This efficiency improvement allows the hearing aid to be 25% smaller and 20% lighter, reportedly without compromising on all-day wearability.
Eon delivers up to 38 hours of battery life on a single charge. Available in eight color options, Eon comes with two new charging solutions, including a portable charger with an integrated battery for added flexibility on the go.

This allows Eon to deliver advanced speech processing in a smaller, lighter design while supporting the all-day reliability people expect from Phonak,” says Anders Rosengren, chief R&D officer, Sonova.
Made-For-All Connectivity
Eon offers comprehensive connectivity. It is designed to work with virtually any Bluetooth enabled device and combines Bluetooth Classic, Roger Direct, and Auracast broadcast audio into one hearing aid. Wearers can access calls, streaming, wireless microphones, and compatible public audio broadcasts in venues such as museums, theaters, and airports. For Auracast, they can even use the myPhonak app to scan a QR code or connect via the Auracast assistant offered by compatible phones.
Stress-Testing Eon: A Real-World Experience in the Arctic
Amanda Klekowski von Koppenfels, PhD, a scholar, researcher, and educator living with hearing loss, was the first person outside Phonak to wear and test Eon during an Arctic expedition. She said: “Hearing aids aren’t limiting, they are empowering. In unforgiving Arctic conditions, I was able to hear a crack in the packed snow beneath us and follow conversations clearly over the sound of crunching snow. Eon’s WindBlock performed remarkably well, even as the wind whipped around us and made the tents flap. Despite wearing as many as four layers of hats and cold-weather gear, I could hear so clearly that, at times, other members of the expedition without hearing loss were asking me to repeat what had been said, rather than the other way around.”
Eon Portfolio
Phonak’s new Eon portfolio includes the Phonak Audéo Eon Sphere (for mild to profound hearing loss), Phonak Audéo Eon R (for mild to profound hearing loss), and Phonak CROS Eon R (for unilateral hearing loss).
Two new charging solutions are available. The ChargerGo RIC I E, a portable charger with integrated battery, and the Charger RIC E, a desktop charging solution.
With the launch of the Eon portfolio, Phonak has also made enhancements to Phonak Target fitting software. Target 12.0 supports the new NAL-NL3 fitting formula and features clearer reports and flexible opt in/opt out controls for patient data management as well as a new fitting-authorization step that protects client fittings by ensuring only hearing care professionals can change fitting data. Feedback test 2.1 provides an enhanced first-fit experience by automatically adding up to 6 dB of headroom when needed, to help HCPs reach prescribed gain more reliably and support speech audibility from day one. Both the myPhonak and myPhonak Junior apps have been updated for a simplified user experience, with a cleaner, easier interface so clients can adjust settings and manage their devices with fewer steps. And available in the myPhonak app is Find My Hearing Aids feature, which helps clients easily locate their devices and reduce the chance of loss, providing peace of mind.

Phonak Eon is available to order by licensed hearing care professionals in the United States as of August 24, 2026, with additional markets, including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, and others, to follow in September.
More ingenuity from Phonak – yet once again zero mention of MUSIC. For many of us, musician or otherwise, there’s more music in a day than speech.
It’s good to read here that Widex continue to be so music aware (Homage to Marshall Chasin) – but they are a rarity, and can be beyond budget.
