Hearing Health & Technology Matters recognized the Eon hearing aid for its Hypersonic chip, AI-driven sound processing, and expanded Bluetooth connectivity platform.

Phonak‘s Eon hearing aid has been named a 2026 Hearing Technology Innovator by Hearing Health & Technology Matters (HHTM), the company announced Oct. 2, 2026.

Now in its seventh year, the global awards program recognizes innovative technologies, products, and services from across the hearing industry. The 2026 program drew submissions from companies around the world across eight categories.

Launched in August 2026, Eon was recognized for its newly developed Hypersonic chip, which combines Spheric Speech Clarity 3.0, AutoSense OS AI 8.0, and Made-For-All connectivity in a single, more efficient platform.

“This recognition is important because EON is built around what truly matters: helping people stay connected in everyday life,” says Josipa Kern, global head of Phonak, in a release. “By combining AI in complex listening situations with next-generation connectivity, EON moves hearing technology beyond making sound louder and toward helping people take part more fully in the world around them.”

WindBlock 2.0 and Outdoor Performance

Eon also introduces WindBlock 2.0, which automatically reduces wind noise by up to 50 dB and can improve the signal-to-noise ratio by up to 30 dB, compared to WindBlock 2.0 off, according to a Phonak Insight study by Lindeman and Brunner (2026).

Connectivity

On the connectivity side, Eon combines Bluetooth Classic, Roger Direct, and Auracast broadcast audio into one hearing aid, allowing wearers to access calls, streaming, wireless microphones, and compatible public audio broadcasts in venues such as museums, theaters, and airports.

Judges’ Perspective

“The Innovator Awards recognize technologies and solutions that are advancing what’s possible in hearing care,” says Dr Robert Traynor, member of the 2026 Hearing Technology Innovator Awards judging panel, in a release. “This year’s winners reflect the creativity and technical progress taking place across the industry, with innovations designed to address real-world needs for both hearing professionals and the people they serve.”
